On the 20th of May six colleagues from Harvey Nash are running the Hackney Half Marathon.
Why? To support a local charity – Alive and Kicking.
Alive and Kicking employs over 150 people in Nairobi, Lusaka and Accra in full-time work. Each of the staff supports an average of six people with their wage, meaning they directly support a community of over 800. More than half of the stitchers have never been in formal employment before. The majority of footballs are sold through African retailers, including Nakumatt, Shoprite and Game.
So because they make footballs, and the World Cup is just one month away, we thought we’d celebrate our favourite England song – World in Motion. We work in tech, so to keep it modern we’ve updated one lyric. It’s entirely appropriate.
All of the people in this video are running the half marathon – so please support them. Trust me the video is suffering enough, never mind the run.
